33 weeks of guided online learning per year. Year 1 is taught completely online and Year 2 and 3 will be on campus. The 33 weeks per year are divided into 3 terms, consisting of 11 weeks each.
Sing a selection of Indian music repertoire adhering to correct conventions of vocal performance, apply basic principles & techniques of Indian classical music in this repertoire
Perform simple solo/group vocal performance parts with an ensemble, communicate with musicians and technicians using correct terminology. Read and interpret creative and technical guidelines for vocal performances
Record your vocal performance with the help of a backing music track and demonstrate awareness of professional recording workflow and processes
Read and aurally recognise basic scales (raags) and rhythms (taals), identify notes and simple chord shapes on a piano/keyboard and prepare simple chord charts for performance repertoire
Discuss musical and stylistic characteristics of different types of popular songs, sub genres, artists and composers, of Indian music.
Assess the quality of performance using established criteria and provide constructive feedback to peers
What You Need
Students must be at least 16 years of age.
Students should have completed their HSC or equivalent examination by Level 3 in order to receive the MESC certification and credits.
The minimum time commitment for this programme is 1 year.
The course will be taught in English and Hindi
